About Volunteers for Community Service

Volunteer for Community Service (VCS) provides a key link between the community and Stony Brook University when it comes to service. We provide students with information on over 200 organizations on and off campus that need volunteers or are looking for members – organizations spanning all fields:

  • Human Services
  • Helping Professions
  • Youth Services
  • Health Professions
  • Senior Citizen Services
  • Animals
  • Environmental

You may volunteer to fulfill your major requirements or just to help others. VCS sponsors various one day events that are great for students who don't have a lot of time but still want to make a difference. We can work around your schedule but some organizations do require a certain number of hours.
