Simon & Schuster

Simon & Schuster's Summer Internship Program is nine weeks (from early June to early August). Interns are required to work full-time, Monday- Friday, from 9am-5pm, through the entire length of the program. S&S will compensate Interns at the rate of $11.00/hour.

The program includes weekly luncheons hosted by Human Resources and facilitated by full-time employees. In addition, Interns are encouraged to interact with each other and share their experiences through a final team project. Upon completion of the program, Interns will leave with valuable working experience and a full understanding of the book publishing industry.

 

Smithsonian Internship Opportunities

Vicon is a Hauppauge-based manufacturer of IP and digital video surveillance systems. Vicon is looking for an intern to work within the marketing department in the role of Lead Generation Coordinator. This person would be responsible for using various databases to which they subscribe to research possible bid opportunities for our sales staff.

After identifying jobs that may involve installation of video security systems, the intern would perform preliminary follow up with the leads to determine if they are a good match for us and then pass the leads on to the sales staff. The intern would then track and manage the progress of the leads through the bid and sales process. In addition, the intern would assist with other marketing activities as time permits.

 

Wellness Center

ADC is a grassroots civil rights organization which welcomes people of all backgrounds, faiths and ethnicities as members.

Center for Strategic and International Studies Internships

CSIS offers internships to students in the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. The internships focus on gaining experience in public policy in an institution that supports bi-partisan efforts.

 

Children's Pressline

Editorial Coordinators (Internship) will be responsible for managing teams of youth journalists as they research, brief and interview their peers around the world. By outreaching to youth-serving organizations, the intern will coordinate peer-to-peer interviews between CPL journalists and kids across the country. Topics are youth and adult-generated. Some transcribing and editing will be involved.

Interns will work directly with program director & gain nonprofit & editorial management skills. Interns need to be able to work independently, understand the value of deadlines & have excellent research & phone skills.

ADC Research Institute

ADC is a grassroots civil rights organization which welcomes people of all backgrounds, faiths and ethnicities as members.

The ADC President is looking for an intern to assist in carrying out the ADC mission. The deadline to apply for the summer program is March 15th. There is no deadline for the fall or spring semester.

 

Africa-American Institute

Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies

Washington, D.C. The Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) is currently accepting applications for its 2007-2008 Fellowship Programs.

The three 2007-2008 Fellowship Programs are the George Aratani Foundation/Daniel K. Inouye Fellowship Program, the Anheuser-Busch/Frank Horton Fellowship Program, and the Sodexho Health Policy Fellowship. Applications for these programs must be postmarked by Wednesday, February 28, 2007.
