How do I get involved?

Internet

We've contracted exclusively with an Internet service provider, ZebraNet, to enable you to tap into immediate part-time job listings, internships and volunteer opportunities. ZebraNet also allows you to post your resume online, view job search tools and much more! You can access ZebraNet soon!

Job Postings

Local employers fax job postings to the Career Center daily. You can find these jobs advertised on ZebraNet and organized in binders located in our career resource library. Stop by to view these listings anytime during our hours of operation. You can also find job postings on our bulletin boards located outside the Career Center.

Additional Resources for job postings

Local newspapers such as Yankee Trader, Suffolk Life, This Week, Three Village Times, Port Jefferson Herald and Newsday are newspapers that have various job listings. These resources can be found at Stop & Shop, Eckerd, Wild By Nature and local delicatessens.

On-Campus Positions

On-Campus positions are now available on-line through the SOLAR System at http://www.stonybrook.edu/solarsystem/info. Students may access on-campus employment opportunities, under the Federal Work-Study and the Student Assistant Program at anytime. Search for Federal Work Study positions by entering 1721 into the job code field and for Student Assistant positions by entering 1971 into the job code field. The Office of Financial Aid Services, located on the ground level of the Administration building, around the corner form Admissions, provides advisement and placement services to students who are interested in the Federal Work Study Program. For further information call 632-6840. Additional opportunities are available through the Faculty Student Association. Their office is located at Suite 250, Student Union, and their phone number is 632-9306.
